I grew up in Alief, out on Houston’s southwest side. My dad drove a forklift at the Port of Houston, and at eighteen I was working those same docks. A few years later I was running moving crews for a big van line, up and down I-10 and US-59, learning how this work goes right and how it goes wrong.
In 2010 I bought one used box truck and painted it safety-orange so customers could spot it at the curb. The color became the name, and the name became Orange Movers. I still take the awkward jobs myself: a piano off a second-floor Heights landing, a gun safe out of a Katy garage.
Why the on-time guarantee exists
Houston traffic taught me the honest truth about this business: nobody controls the 610 Loop at 8am. So I stopped promising exact times and started putting a one-hour arrival window in writing, with $25 off your bill for every hour we’re late. If we eat the risk, you’ll believe the promise.
Why Houston
Because it’s home. The heat, the bayous, the sprawl from Katy to Baytown. Our crews know which Galleria towers need a dock reservation and which Heights townhomes have stairs that turn a sofa into a geometry problem.
